I have a setup Sharepoint on Company's Intranet, However, our remote users are not able to connect to see files posted on the site, When I am accessing Sharepoint through an IP address for remote users, but I am receiving error when viewing the files that are posted,

Cause:
it was the configuration issue for extranet/internet access
Resolution:
Setup an external/internet url alternate access mapping for the web application.
Go to Central Admin > Application Management > Configure alternate access mappings
